Well, we've seen how it goes with GoT. No one could do it as good as Togashi.

I was thinking more of a close collaboration with the writers. GoT is indeed going a bit to shit.

Well, if it was Togashi sitting back in a chair while telling others what to do and they did exactly that, then it'd be awesome.

That feeling the first time a manga you like goes on indefinite hiatus and you don't know how to deal with it:

That feeling when you've seen so many hiatuses that you're a hardened badass and are immune to the agony by now:

So we're taking a break from the great hiatus arc? Darn, it was getting exciting but i suppose it will be back soon enough

Is it me or do these chapters seem really packed with information compared to other mangas? I love it.

Yes it is extremely dense.. Which is why the translation on them can take a bit longer, and even then MS's translations are a bit off..

Various Nen charts and discussions of Nen on the internet look like this

Specifically, for Conjurers and Manipulators, they put a 1% on Specialist. The usual rationale for this is something ambiguous like "they have a 1% chance of becoming a specialist" or something even though that's not what these %s mean (they really mean the Level, "Force" and "Accuracy" of use of that type - see Volume 12). Furthermore in Volume 9 when Kurapika's teacher draws this diagram for Kurapika (Conjurer), he puts down a 0% for Specialist.

Is there a canon source of information justifying this 1% anywhere? For example. does a different character's explanation of Specialists lend itself to this? I'm asking because skimming through some pertinent chapters I couldn't find any mention of this magical "1%" people refer to. Did I miss/forget something or is this just e.g. a misconception that has propagated in the English-speaking fan community?

Taking a glance, the Enhancer numbers are wrong by the way. The outermost categories (except Specialist) should be much lower than 60%.

My only reference is that episode from the 2011 series where Izunabi is teaching Kurapika.

Kurapika's master mentions that Manipulators and Conjurers are put next to Specialist because they have the highest chance of developing that kind of power. However no 1% is ever drawn that I can think of.

I didn't make the chart - just plucked it from Google - so I can't speak for its accuracy. AFAIK 60% for two places away sounds right though, and Conjurers at least have 60 in Enhancement. If you have a canon source for it not being symmetrical the other way though I'd be very interested.

Kurapika's master mentions that Manipulators and Conjurers are put next to Specialist because they have the highest chance of developing that kind of power.

Yeah, that's right. I have no problem with the position for the purpose of this question, just the number.

Definitely not in that chapter, yeah. I'm just wondering if I dunno Wing or Knuckle or someone else who explains Nen at some time does. Or maybe this is only in the 1999 anime or something?

This is the 1st time I have heard of this 1% thing.. The Wikia* (http://hunterxhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Nen#Specialization) states that Conjurers & Manipulators are more likely to manifest it.. Which matches up with what I vaguely recall as well..

* It's not the end-all-debates source, I know, but one that is usually prone to making such issues due to its crowd sourced nature. Not in this case though..
