I can't even work out what I'm looking at. WTF is that pokemon?
It's one of the four island guardians whom the player can catch for some reason because surely
there's nothing more important for them to do except participate in cockfights for an eleven-year-old.
Not pictured: Tapu Koko, as it was annonced separately before the rest. In any case, these things are based on totem poles. Like, they all have this outer shell that can be closed and when they do, they end up looking like a wooden face.
Entirely unrelatedly, a while back I was bitching at how impossible it was to get BP in this game... Since then I have learned the perfect strategy to get long streaks going in the Battle Tree:
Seriously Mimikyu is stupidly strong. Sure its stats might not look that
impressive, (it's got decent but not outstanding stats in everything but HP and Sp.Atk. Those two stats, however, are pretty pitiful) but that Disguise ability? Basically guarantees that it's gonna survive the first turn unless the opponent has something to hit through it. Which gives the player a free chance to set up a Swords Dance, doubling its attack. And it's decently fast + it gets Shadow Sneak to one-up things that might be faster than it. Like, my Mimikyu Pikaboo (and the unnamed one I got in a trade earlier... they're functionally identical but I just bred one because I wanted to nickname it) has single-handedly won tons
of battles for me and by now I've unlocked both Super Single Battles and Super Double Battles. Not even gonna bother with Multi Battles though; Why would I want to parttake in double battles with a stupid CPU companion and only get to bring two
Pokémon of my own?
